Havas

The Havas Group is a French advertising agency based in Suresnes, Hauts -de -Seine department.

It evolved out of the first French news agency, which was founded in 1835 by Charles -Louis Havas. Continued after his death (1858 ) by his son Auguste Havas ( 1813-1889 ), it was converted in 1879 into a corporation.

Havas was purchased by Vivendi in 1998 and renamed Vivendi Universal Publishing. The company, which today bears the name Havas, was originally a subsidiary of Havas old, namely on the communications sector specialized Havas Advertising, which has acquired the naming rights in 2002.
