Hawaii Route 440

The Hawaii State Route 440 is the only state route on the island of Lanai in the state of Hawaii. You only have regional significance, connecting the tourist area on the south coast with the only town on the island and the Lanai Airport.

Course

The road begins at Manele Harbor and leads steeply uphill north to Lanai City, where she continues in a westerly direction just past the entrance to the endpoint Kaumalapau Harbour. The total length is approximately 13.5 miles ( 22 km ). The southern section is known as Manele Road, the western and Kaumalapau Highway.
