Hawker Beechcraft

The Hawker Beechcraft Corporation, formerly Raytheon Aircraft, was an American aircraft manufacturer based in Wichita, Kansas, who produced in the period 2006-2013 Beechcraft and Hawker business jets. The Company had on 3 May 2012 under the protection of creditors under Chapter 11, Title 11, United States Code go. On February 19, 2013, the Company was able to solve under the new name Beechcraft Corporation from bankruptcy protection.

The company sold its products primarily under the brand names Beechcraft and Hawker.

History

Since February 8, 1980, Beech Aircraft Corporation was owned by Raytheon Company, a US-based conglomerate. In August 1993, Raytheon also took over the range business jets from British Aerospace. Both acquisitions were mid- September 1994 merged to form the new Raytheon Aircraft.

2006 Raytheon met the decision to focus on military projects and repel the loss-making commercial aircraft. On 21 December 2006, an agreement was reached with the Canadian Onex Corporation and the U.S. Goldman Sachs, the then holding company Hawker Beechcraft Inc. founded. This company acquired on 26 March 2007, renamed Hawker Beechcraft Corporation, Raytheon Aircraft for 3.3 billion U.S. dollars.

The company is located in Wichita, Kansas, where 6,300 of the more than 8,000 people are employed ( 2007). Other production sites are Little Rock, Arkansas, Salina, Kansas, and the UK Chester. Worldwide, the company operates more than 100 owned and authorized service centers.
