Hawkins County is a county located in the state of Tennessee in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Rogersville.

Geography

The County is located in northeastern Tennessee, bordered to the north Virginia and has an area of ​​1294 square kilometers, of which 34 square kilometers are water surface. History

Hawkins County was formed on November 18, 1786 from parts of Sullivan County. It was named for Benjamin Hawkins, a farmer, statesman, Indian agent from North Carolina, a member of the Continental Congress and U.S. Senator.
