The HC 05 Banská Bystrica is a Slovak ice hockey club in the town of Banská Bystrica, which was founded in 2005 and since 2008, plays in the Slovak Extraliga. Play their home games, the club made ​​in the arena Zimný Banska Bystrica, which holds 3,000 spectators.


Between 1933 and 2005 existed in Banská Bystrica an ice hockey club, the last SaHK Iskra Banská Bystrica was called and played in the first second-rate league. This club was disbanded in 2005. Thereupon, the HC 05 Banská Bystrica, which was 2006 and 2008 champion of the 1st League and 2008 rose to the Extraliga founded.
