The HK Lada Togliatti (Russian ХК Лада Тольятти ) is an ice hockey club established in 1976 the Russian city of Tolyatti. The club plays in the Wysschaja Hockey League. The club colors are blue, white and red.

History

The club was founded in 1976 as Torpedo Togliatti and played in the next five years in the Wtoraja League, the third division of the Soviet Union. This Torpedo won the respective regional Season 1979 and 1982 and rose by 1982 in the second-class Perwaja league.

More titles with the team winning the East Season 1986 and the promotion round 1991 Perwaja League celebrated. In 1989, the present corporation took over AvtoVAZ the patronage of the club and led as an identifier the name of the car brand Lada. In addition, a new head coach was adjusted with Gennadi Zygurow, with the first team in 1991 in the top flight of the Soviet Union, the League Wysschaja climb. Prior to the 2009/10 season the team was facing bankruptcy. The new main sponsor Rostechnologii funding could be secured for the time being. After the guaranteed payments stayed away for the time being, Lada was rescued by an injection of 17 million rubles from the KHL before the dissolution of the association. In the 2010/11 season, the club plays in the Wysschaja league.

Venues

By 2013 Lada Togliatti wore its home games in obsolete, 2,900 -seat Sports Palace Wolgar.

According to the regulations of the Russian Championship, each participant would have to present a venue with a capacity of at least 5,500 spectators for the 2007 /08 season. Therefore, there have been various plans to build a new ice rink to comply with these conditions. The lack of a suitable venue was one of the reasons why the club was excluded in 2010 from the Continental Hockey League.

On 9 August 2013 were the Lada Arena, the new home of the club opened. The modern arena offers 6,122 spectators a place.
