The HC Martigny is a former Swiss ice hockey club from Martigny.

History

The club was founded in 1939 and played in the 1950s in the National League A, the highest Swiss Hockey League. In the following years, the club was often in the lower leagues active, but increased several times in the second highest league, the National League B, on. There the club but could not establish permanent. The Lower Valais, which played along with high budget in the 1990s under the impulsive President René Grand in NLB peak in 1999 retired as Table in the relegation round in the first ( amateur ) League back.

Without Grand President, but with new leadership and the old name after the interim designation HC Octodure the HC Martigny returned to the 2005/06 season in the NLB back. Here Martigny benefited from the rise of waiver of the winners of the final round of the amateur championship EHC Dübendorf and SC Interlaken -Interlaken.

Martigny closed the regular season 2005/ 06 in the National League B with the eleventh and final rank from, was due to the withdrawal of the Forward Morges HC but second-rate. The club engaged for the following season NLB striker Yevgeny Koreshkov, the seven points ( 5 goals ) was the best scorer of the Kazakh national team at the 2006 Winter Olympics. Before Koreshkov (Latvia ) had already signed another Olympic competitors for 2006/ 07 in Martigny with Grigory Panteljew.

Fribourg- Gottéron and HC Martigny, the two laggards of the NLA or NLB Season 2005/ 06, went in the summer of 2006, establish a partnership. Here Fribourg had the intention to promote the elite juniors in a mid-season in the NLB. The continuation of the partnership of Fribourg with the HC La Chaux -de-Fonds was provided.

After the 2007/ 08 season, the General Assembly of the club decided to withdraw from the NLB, so they started with only eleven teams in 2008/ 09.

2008 merged the HC Martigny with the HC Verbier Val -de- Bagnes for HC Red Ice Martigny- Verbier- Entremont. By winning the Amateur Championship title in 2012, the team rose to the NLB.
