HC Motor Zaporozhye

HK Motor Zaporozhye (Russian ГК " Мотор " Запорожье ) is a handball club from the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia. By 2012 the club was HK "Motor ZNTU -ZAS ".

The club plays in the top handball league of Ukraine, the Ukrainian men's Handball Super League ( Гандбольна Суперліга ). Since summer 2013, the team of Serhiy Bebeschko is trained.

The club was founded in 1958 won in 2013 for the first time the national championship and the cup.

For a caution sign is made ​​in the EHF European Cup Winners' Cup 2011/12 when they won the quarter-finals after a 30-39 loss at home in the second leg at SG Flensburg- Handewitt 32:27. In the EHF Champions League 2013/14 they reached the first knockout round against THW Kiel. Since the domestic hall does not meet the required demands by the EHF, the home games were played in Kharkiv some 300 km away. Due to the tense political situation in the spring of 2014, the first knockout round first leg was moved to the Hungarian city of Győr. This won the THW Kiel 31:28.
