HD 140283 is a star in the constellation Libra. He is one of the nearest stars of population II using the Hubble Space Telescope, the distance was determined at him 190 light-years and age - with an accuracy of ± 800 million years ago - estimated to be about 14.5 billion years. Thus, the star would be only slightly younger than the universe ( 13.8 billion years old).
