HD 212301

HD 212 301 is about 180 light years distant star system in the constellation octane. It consists of two stars, as well as an exoplanet.

Main component of the system is a main sequence star of spectral type F8 like with an apparent visual magnitude of 7.8, has 1.3 times the mass of the sun. In an angular distance of 4 ", 4 (about 230 AE ) is a red dwarf of spectral type M3 was detected.

Exoplanet

The discovery of exoplanets was given on 22 August 2005 announced at the colloquium " The Tenth Anniversary of 51 Peg b " at the Observatoire de Haute -Provence. The exoplanet, called HD 212 301 b (or HD 212 301 Ab) has 0.45 times the mass of Jupiter and orbits the main component in 2,457 days in an orbit with a semimajor axis of 0.036 AU ( 5.4 million km ).
