Band History

The band was founded by the two sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson first played melodic rock music. From the genre called " Hardrock " adapted the two sisters in relation to the group name at the time the similar sounding " Heart Rock ". Already with their debut album Dreamboat Annie scored the band a 1975 box office hit in Canada and the United States. The first singles were How deep it goes and Magic Man ( number nine in the U.S.). Crazy on You reached the Top 40 in the U.S. charts. The album went platinum. The 1977 follow-up album released Little Queen was equally successful, and contained a hit single with Barracuda, who narrowly missed the top 10 in the U.S. and was ranked 8th in Germany. Also the album was certified platinum Dog and Butterfly in the following year.

In the early 1980s, the success of the group faded. The Wilson sisters Ann and Nancy then changed their band members, changed the style in smooth, more radio-friendly pop-rock, pop ballads and occasionally also played cover versions. The 1985 released album Heart was the most successful in the band's history, reaching the top of the charts. It sold in the U.S. alone over 5 million copies and has been very successful in Europe. Of the five single releases only four reached the Top 10 Her follow-up album Bad Animals could almost seamlessly build on the success. Already the first single standalone reached the top of the charts in the USA. The two follow-up singles Who Will You Run To, and There's the Girl were very successful.

In 1990 the album Brigade, which in the U.S. alone has sold 2 million times and again recorded a major hit with the title All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You. Desire Walks On appeared in 1993, which was sold in the U.S. only about 500,000 times and with the single Will You Be There ( In the Morning ) just entered the top 40. 1995 was published with The Road Home, a live album in 1998 and a greatest hits album with the early hits of the band of the 1970s and 1980s.

Only in 2004 appeared with Jupiter's Darling, a follow-up album with new material, which could however not nearly to build on earlier successes. The Red Velvet Car published in 2010 for the first time reached the top 10 charts. Overall, the band has sold over 30 million records.
