Heather Menzies

Heather Menzies ( born December 3, 1949 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian actress.

Life

Menzies retired at the age of eleven years with her family from Canada, first to Florida and then to California, where she attended high school in Hollywood. Her film debut she was already 15 years old in the musical The Sound of Music, my dreams alongside Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. The following year she played a supporting role in George Roy Hill's drama Hawaii, where Julie Andrews again had the lead role. With 16 years Menzies made ​​her debut on Broadway next to Shirley Knight in the original production of We Have Always Lived in the Castle. However, this was listed in October 1966, only nine times and stayed their only Broadway production. Other minor film roles she had, among others, in Hail, Hero! and Wore Tennis Shoes. In 1973, she played the female lead role in the horror film Sssnake cobra; another major role was in Joe Dante's horror film piranhas of 1978.

Menzies increasingly played in the 1970s television roles and entered into guest appearances including in Bonanza, The hard hitting five and The Six Million Dollar Man on. Between 1977 and 1978 she played the role of Jessica 6 in the 23 century based on the sci-fi film Escape series Logan's Run, but this was adjusted after 14 episodes. In the August 1973 issue of Playboy nude photos were published of her.

Menzies married in 1975 in second marriage to actor Robert Urich, with whom she was married until his death in 2002. During this marriage, the couple adopted three children.
