Heathrow Connect

Heathrow Connect is the name of a train service between London Heathrow Airport and Paddington Station in central London. It operates with the British class railcar 360 on the same route as the Heathrow Express, but with more intermediate stops.

History

Heathrow Connect took on 13 June 2005 as a joint venture between First Great Western and the airport operator BAA Limited to operate on. The offer was originally addressed primarily to the employees of BAA and the inhabitants of the western parts of London. The former receive with their employee ID card a discount on the fare; with tourists the offer was initially less well known. Heathrow Connect but in the meantime also advertised as a cheaper but slower alternative to the Heathrow Express.

To increase the capacity of 2008, the four-car train sets to date extended to each of a car.

After completion of Crossrail by 2018/19 the Heathrow Connect will be integrated into this.

Offer

The features of the Heathrow Connect operate at 30- minute intervals and look for the exit in Paddington in Ealing Broadway, West Ealing (closed on Sundays ), Hanwell (closed on Sundays ), Southall, Hayes & Harlington, Heathrow Terminals 1,2,3 and Heathrow terminal 4 vv. , for the onward journey to Terminal 5 using the Heathrow Express is required.

The journey between the station of Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and Terminal 4 is free of charge. The Travel Card is valid only on the section between Paddington and Hayes & Harlington. For the onward journey to the airport, a surcharge will be charged.
