Heavy MONTRÉAL

Heavy MTL is a two-day open-air festival for metal and hard rock in the Canadian city of Montreal. It takes place every year on the third weekend in July at Parc Jean Drapeau on Île Sainte - Hélène - place, an island in the St. Lawrence River east of downtown.

The first edition was in 2008 with 36,000 spectators. 2009 organizers said from the festival, because this year many metal bands made ​​a stop on their tours in Montreal, and thus there was an oversupply. Since 2010 the festival will take place again and now attracts more than 40,000 visitors.
