Héctor Mario López Fuentes

Héctor Mario López ( born 1929 or 1930) is a Guatemalan General in retirement.

López held during the reign of Efraín Ríos Montt 1982-1983 the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Army.

Arrest

Counter López existed since 2000, a criminal complaint for genocide and crimes against humanity, which are based on the 1999 report by the truth commission Comisión para el Esclarecimiento Histórico. López is therefore for more than 200 massacres of the civilian population, mostly to members of the Mayas, be partly responsible. On June 17, 2011, he was arrested in Guatemala City.
