Héctor Varela (musician)

Héctor Varela ( born January 29, 1914 in Buenos Aires, † 30 January 1987 ) was an Argentine musician, his real name was Salustiano Paco Varela. As a bandleader, arranger, composer and bandoneon player he coined the Tango Argentino.

Varela's career began at the age of 16, he first played bandoneon in various orchestras. In the 1940s he was part of the orchestra of Juan D' Arienzo major bandleader, starting in the 1950s, he celebrated with his own orchestra with great success. He developed a distinctive style, which differed in rhythm and sound of the work with and for D' Arienzo. Formative are the voices of the singers and Rodolfo Lesica Argentino Ledesma.
