Heddert

Heddert is a municipality in the Trier -Saar castle in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kell am See.

Geography

Heddert located in the Natural Park Saar -Hunsrück. The village is located about five kilometers northwest of Kell am See and 13 kilometers southeast of Trier on the country road 143

History

Heddert was first mentioned as Hederichsrode 1207. Further mention is the place Hedenroit 1670, 1710 and 1724 as Heydert Haydert. By the end of the 18th century the village belonged to the part of the Trier monastery of St. Paulin, and partly to direct imperial rule shillings of the Trier cathedral chapter. In 1794, the left bank of the Rhine was occupied by French revolutionary troops. From 1798 to 1814 Heddert belonged to the Canton Hermes wedge in Saarland Department. Because of the Congress of Vienna (1815 ) agreements, the region came to the Kingdom of Prussia. The municipality was assigned to the mayor's Kell in 1816 established the district of Trier and was from 1822 until the end of World War II to the Rhine province. Since 1946 Heddert is part of Rhineland- Palatinate.
