Hedin (crater)

157.38

Hedin is an impact crater on the westernmost edge of the lunar front side, therefore, if at all, only highly distorted from Earth visible. It lies on the western edge of Oceanus Procellarum, to the south of the crater Olbers. The large but very shallow crater is heavily eroded and largely leveled.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 after the Swedish naturalist and explorer Sven Hedin.
