The Heerlen Railway Station is the largest train station in the Dutch city of Heerlen. He is a central hub in urban public transport. At the station, at national regional and long-distance trains as well as the cross-border Euregiobahn towards Aachen. In the summer of 2013, the station was extensively rebuilt.

History

The station was opened on 1 May 1896 the railway line Sittard- Herzogenrath. The compound according to Epen followed in 1915. The station was an important rail loading station for the mining industry until the mines were closed. From Heerlen you can travel to Germany to Aachen and in some other near the border cities. An Intercity connects Heerlen with some cities of the Netherlands.
