Heian Godan

Heian Godan is the fifth and last of the Heian Kata Group. The Karateka she shows off ( 2 Violettgurt or blue belt ) when testing for the 4th Kyu.

In it, several basic principles of karate unite: Mizu nagare - gamae represents an important principle of defensive techniques, changing forms of defense between thoughts, Jodan and Chudan, gripping the opponent's arm and Counter, counter technology with change of view, avoiding an attack by jumping, repelling and Counter ( tai sabaki ) with Nagashi techniques that classic Kamaekata Manji gamae and so on. The variety of techniques this kata teaches already a significant fighting style. At the same time, however, presents its execution high demands on rhythm and timing. The Kata combined alternately in rapid succession movements with quick techniques. It consists of 25 movements and should be executed in a time of about 50 seconds.
