Heide Rühle

Heide Rühle Marie-Rose ( born November 5, 1948 in Heilbronn ) is a German politician and Member of the European Parliament.

Life and career

Heide Rühle studied psychology at the University of Tübingen, is married and has two grown children and lives in Stuttgart. In the 1970s, Rühle was a member of the Maoist KABD ( Communist Workers' Union of Germany ).

Party

Heide Rühle was in 1984 a member of the Green Party. She was 1987-90 national president of the Greens in Baden- Württemberg. In 1990 and 1991 she was the speaker of the Federal Executive of the Greens, the next seven years Political Director of the interim combined with Alliance 90 party.

From 2000 to 2002 Heide Rühle was a member of the Party Council at the federal level. Since 2003 she is a member of the party council of the National Association of Baden- Württemberg of Alliance 90/The Greens.

In 1999, she was the top candidate of the Alliance 90/The Greens in the European elections. In the European elections in 2004 and 2009, she ran # 3 on the Federal List of the countryside.

Member of Parliament

Since 1999, Heide Rühle is a member of the European Parliament and belongs to the Group of the Greens / EFA on. Heide Rühle was of 8 January 2002 until February 26, 2007 Deputy leader of the Greens / EFA group.

She is a member of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) and substitute member of the Committee on Regional Development (REGI ).

Memberships and other activities

Rühle is a member of the European Union Parliamentarians European Parliament. From 2005 to 2009 Heide Rühle was a member of the Presidium of the bipartisan European Union.
