Heidelstein transmitter

The transmitter Heidelstein is located on the 926 m high Heidelstein in the Franconian part of the Rhön. It consists of a 1969 built 218 meter high guyed steel tube mast of Deutsche Telekom AG, which carries antennas for radio relay and to the spread of TV and FM radio programs.

For the benefit of switching to DVB- T analog channels on 29 May 2006 have been set.

All today radiated by the transmitter Heidelstein frequencies were originally intended for other transmission equipment in the Rhön. The " Bavarian " frequencies 101.9 MHz and 103.3 MHz should be sent by the BR- transmitter Kreuzberg. The four Hessian frequencies were planned in the 1980s for a transmitter on the water dome. There, however, was not allowed to be built, the necessary transmission tower, so a move to the Bavarian Heidelstein was necessary. International coordinates all Heidelstein frequencies are still for the original locations.
