Geography

The community Heider village is a Waldhufendorf in a side valley at the headwaters of the Floeha. From the valley of the place lies in a north-westerly direction. The highest point of the resort is the Krahenberg with 652 m, and the lowest is in the Flöhatal.

Neighboring community to the west and northwest is Pfaffroda, Sidon in the north, to the east Neuhausen / Erzgeb., In the southeast Seiffen / Erzgeb. and in the south Olbernhau.

History

On January 20, 1451 the city was first mentioned as " Heyderstorff " in a document. The place belongs to the reign of Schoenberg Purschenstein and Sidon. With the Reformation in 1539 Heider village comes to the parish Sidon. A first teacher is mentioned in 1662, a school house is used from 1666. 1767 a new school building will be built. 1834 a cemetery is built and in 1873 a Parentationshalle. The volunteer fire department was established on February 6, 1878. In the 1880s, several factories to be built. A post office is established in 1888. With the opening of Flöhatalbahn to Neuhausen Heider village will receive on October 1, 1895 rail connection. On January 1, 1908 Heider village is independent parish. On the electricity supply is connected Heidersdorf 1912. In 1924, the Town Hall is inaugurated. The district Mortelgrund 1925 is assigned to the city of Sidon.

In GDR times, the water supply VEB Leipzig maintained in place an operational vacation home for his company employees.

In 1969, the school expanded. In July 1981, it comes to storm damage. 1982, a central water supply is built. As of 1992, Heider village has only a primary school.
