Heidesee

Heidesee ( Lower Wysoki jazor ) is a municipality and in the north east of the district Dahme -Spreewald in Brandenburg in Germany. The name derives from the many nations and lakes in the municipality.

Geography

Heidesee is located about 30 kilometers southeast of the center of Berlin and ten kilometers east of the former circuit city Kingswells in a heath landscape of forests (mainly pine forests), lakes, rivers and canals. The districts surround the Blossiner Heath. The community is located between the Wolziger lake, the river Dahme and the Oder- Spree Canal at the southern edge of the Berlin glacial valley. The landscape was formed by the Weichsel ice age ( about 10,000 to 20,000 years ago).

Expansion of the municipal district

The community Heidesee extends north from the Federal Highway 12 and the border of the district Dahme -Spreewald to the federal highway 246 in the south and from the state road 179 in the west to the border of the district of Dahme -Spreewald in the east.

Neighboring communities

At Heidesee limits following municipalities: Storkow (Mark), diver, Muenchehofe, Gross Koris, Bestensee and King Wusterhausen.

History

Incorporations

The municipality was created in the course of municipal reform on 26 October 2003 from the ( voluntary ) merger of the previously independent municipalities Bindow, Blossin Dannenreich, Friedersdorf, Kolberg and Prieros. The communities Dolgenbrodt, Gräbendorf, Gussow, Streganz and Wolzig were incorporated into the newly formed community Heidesee on the same date by law. Simultaneously, the existing 1992 to 2003 Office Friedersdorf was dissolved.

Social History

In the Spreenhagener road 1 in the district Wolzig a Jewish youth and nursing home was built in 1929, were rehabilitated in the juvenile delinquents in the sense of progressive education. In June 1933, SA men raided the home and abducted 40 young people and five educators to Berlin and further into the Oranienburg concentration camp. The house was transferred Nazi organizations and is since 1948 or nursing home.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on 3 June 2004.

Blazon: " oblique Shared by gold and blue, above a veined, green oak leaf with fruit, below a standing silver heron. "

The community Heidesee has taken over the crest of the formerly independent municipality Gräbendorf as a coat of arms.
