Heidi Astrup

Heidi Holme Astrup ( born May 31, 1972 in Viborg ) is a former Danish handball player.

Career

Astrup began at the age of six years, the handball matches in Viborg HK. Later the backcourt player belonged to the Ladies squad of Viborg HK. After Astrup was in the 1997/98 season for the Japanese club Chateraise hunting for goals, they then returned to Viborg. By the end of the season 2002/ 03 they won with a total of eight Viborg, the Danish championship twice and the EHF Cup.

In 2003, she signed a contract with the league rivals Aalborg DH. After two years in Aalborg she rejoined Viborg HK. With Viborg, she won another championship in 2006 and the EHF Champions League. In 2007 she joined the second division Skive fH, where she was also active as an assistant coach. Pregnancy Because she finished there in 2008 her career. In 2011, she was from April to June as an assistant coach in Viborg.

Astrup belonged from 1990 to the cadres of the Danish national team. With Denmark in 1996, she won the gold medal at the Olympic Games and the 1994 and 1996 European Championship. After Euro 1996 Astrup ended her international career, but she returned again in 2007 back for a few internationals.
