Heidi Voelker

Heidi Voelker ( born October 29, 1969 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts) is a former American alpine skier.

Voelker was born as the youngest of four children of a ski-loving family and grew up in Pittsfield (Massachusetts ). From 1985 to 1997 she was a member of the U.S. Ski Team. The first international success in 1987 was a second place in the slalom at the Junior World Championship in Sweden halls. In Skiweltcup Voelker went six times in the top ten. In January 1994, she succeeded in giant slalom in Morzine with rank 3 the only podium finish of her career.

For Olympic Winter Games and World Championships Voelker was three times each on the U.S. team. Her best result it reached in 1991 at the World Championships in Saalbach -Hinterglemm 8th place in the slalom.

Voelker ended her active career in the spring of 1997 with a third place in the giant slalom at the national championships of the United States. Today she lives with her ​​husband and two sons in Park City and works as an ambassador for the ski resort of Deer Valley.
