Heike Balck

Heike Balck ( born August 19, 1970 in Schwerin ) is a former German athlete who had been successful in the 1980s and 1990s in the high jump. By 1990 they started for DDR. On 12 June 1989, she jumped in Karl- Marx-Stadt, the height of 2.01 m and thus equaled the junior world record of Olga Turtschak, USSR, on July 5, 1986. The world record has to date (August 2008) stock.

She was twice East German Champion (1989: 1.97 m; 1990: 1.95) and German champion twice (1994: 1.90 m; 1997: 1.96 m).
