Heiko Habermann

Heiko Habermann ( born November 2, 1962 in Berlin ) is a former rower from the German Democratic Republic. In 1988 he won the Olympic bronze medal with the quadruple sculls.

Habermann rowed for the SC Berlin- Grunau. In 1979 he finished in second place in the Spartakiade One. From 1980, he repeatedly second and third places get in the GDR championships in double sculls and quadruple sculls. In 1986 he occupied at the World Rowing Championships in fourth place in the One, the following year he also reached with the sculls fourth place. His only East German championship titles won Habermann 1988, when the boat in the cast Bogs Steffen, Steffen Zühlke, Heiko and Jens Habermann Köppen by winning the league title also succeeded in Olympic qualifying. At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, the quadruple sculls reached the bronze medal behind the boats from Italy and Norway. For winning the bronze medal he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit. 1989 occupied Zühlke and Habermann at the GDR championships in double sculls third place.

Habermann studied electrical engineering and vocational teachers. In the senior level, he is still active as a rower and successful.
