This south-west wing comprises a large open terrace on the ground floor and a restaurant upstairs. The equipment of the 50s has been preserved until today, elm and maple dress the walls here. A wall mosaic by Frederick Knödler should have been in the former cafe upstairs. Forecourt

Roofing of the bus stop from 1958

In the autumn of 1958 a new roof over the bus stop was built before the Heilbronn Central Station, which was designed by Heinrich Röhm. On the lower standing hall in particular the 20 m 3.40 m wide roof was long and remarkably, that is described in the literature as " sleek, aircraft -like construction ". It rested on five pillars. The roof was replaced in 1980 by a honeycomb suspended construction.

Roofing of 2001

In 2001 a new roof was built for the city tram stop Heilbronn and for bus services, which had been designed by Fritz Auer, Carlo Weber and Götz Guggenberger. This because of the light rail catenary at a height of eight meters suspended, slightly curved roof rises to the reception building to go. By covering with glass panels to historic preservation requirements could be worn over the reception building account. The roof covers an area of 1,100 m² on six pillars.

Predecessors

The first Heilbronner station of 1848 was a little further east on the banks of the Neckar right on the harbor. The track guide to this station, the station building has been preserved even as the old train station, was somewhat different: the tracks were then still south of the building, along what is now Station Road. The station forecourt was on today facing away from the street side of the building where the main entrance is located.

The change of the routing and the intensification of traffic led in 1873 to build the first Heilbronn Central Station at its present location at the north of it lying tracks. A collateral line of the tram Heilbronn joined the main train station with the Heilbronn South Station, it was replaced by the 1951 and 1960 trains running trolleybus Heilbronn. The station building of 1873 was destroyed during an air raid on Heilbronn on December 4, 1944. Today's main railway station was built on its foundations.
