Geographical Location

Sacred valley is located about 3 km south of Gerbstedt and about 11 km north-east of Lutherstadt Eisleben. In Sacred valley of the creek empties into the river Stohl Schlenze, which runs through the town and through the two districts.

History

Until 1931, the municipality still Heiligenthal Heiligenthal helmet village was called

Due to a change in the contract area, the municipal council of the municipality Heiligenthal decided on 5 January 2010 that the church saints Thal is incorporated into the unified community Gerbstedt city. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 24 January 2010.

  • The town's landmark is the late Romanesque church of St. Andrew.

Traffic

Connects to Federal Highway 180, the Aschersleben and Naumburg ( Saale), there are approximately seven kilometers to the west. The nearest railway stations are Belleben on the railway Halle- Halberstadt and Hettstedt at the Berlin- Blankenheim Railway (each seven miles ) and Eisleben at the Halle- Kassel railway (14 miles away). The bus lines 366 and 401 of the Transport Company Suedharz connect Heiligenthal with Hettstedt and Eisleben.

Others

The district helmet village is primarily known for a royal grave of Unetice culture, which was dendrochronologically dated 1840 BC.
