Heimatmuseum Beuel

The local museum in Beuel city of Bonn was founded in 1986 under the auspices of the Local History Association Beuel.

The museum is in a total of four buildings that form a closed courtyard location, in the former Steiner Street, now Wagnergasse housed. In the oldest of the four buildings is a native of Wachtberglifte barn from the year in 1662.

The museum includes exhibits on the early historical development of Beueler space from Roman times to the present. A focus is on the pre-industrial main occupation of the place, the Beueler laundries. The development of the laborious hand laundry to the laundry service has devoted an entire floor.

The exhibition is supplemented with various residential facilities as well as an old schoolroom and a barbershop. Outside can be found next to a herb garden and old grave stones and two bombs.

The museum is run entirely by volunteer forces, which also carry out tours of the grounds, or special activities for children. The city of Bonn offers the possibility of civil marriage in the museum rooms on selected dates.

Admission to the museum is free.
