Heimbach (Nahe)
Heimbach is a municipality in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the community of Baumholder.
Geography
The municipality is located in Heimbach Westrich at the same Heimbach in the valley of the Nahe between the town of Idar -Oberstein, the town of Baumholder and the county town of Birkenfeld.
Adjacent local churches include Hoppstädten- Weiersbach in the West, Nohen in the north, the east and Ruschberg Berglangenbach in the south.
To Heimbach also includes the residential places Altwieserhof, station Heimbach (Nahe), Gladerbacherhof, Heimbacherhof and Steib Eric Wartherhof.

The local council in Heimbach consists of 16 council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms
The blazon of the arms is: Upper part of the half of the shield: gold on black ground a rotbewehrter gezungter - and -crowned growing (half ) lion. - Lower part of the half of the shield: On green basically a three-part silver wave beams. In a silver two bar or drawbar cross.
The Lion and the cross beams have the former territorial affiliation of district parts to Palatinate -Zweibrücken. The double cross is reminiscent of the former dominion of Lorraine. The three-part shaft bar symbolizes the union of the waters of the Reichenbach and the Unnerbach to Heimbach.
Culture and sights
In the Catholic Church Stations of the Cross paintings by Gottwald have been exposed. The Catholic Church is part of the parish community Baumholder, Hoppstädten- Weiersbach, Heimbach, Rückweiler.

Economy and infrastructure
In Heimbach there is a kindergarten and until 1971 there was a Catholic elementary school and a Protestant school in which one could reach the secondary school ninth grade. The Catholic elementary school was then converted into a pure primary school and the Protestant school is completely omitted. From the fifth grade, the children of the town Baumholder or Birkenfeld must, more rarely after Freisen to school.
The population has shrunk by nearly 1,800 residents once (peaked in 1970 ) currently on 1071 (31 December 2011 ). This is recorded in part to the lack of infrastructure, as well as in the city of Baumholder and other local communities due. The trend is stagnating or declining.

At the former station in Heimbach ( place ) since 1981 hold no more passenger trains. For passenger transport the west lies outside the main town railway station Heimbach (Nahe) the line Mainz / Bingen -Saarbrücken is used. A reactivation of the railway line Heimbach (Nahe) - Baumholder, however, is planned.
