Geography

Home shoe lies in the district of Leibnitz in the Austrian province of Styria.

Community structure

On 1 January 1968 the municipality Nestelberg was incorporated. The community consists of now so the cadastral (area 2001): Home Shoe 713.96 ha, 124.12 ha Kittenberg, Muggenau 279.47 ha, 350.96 ha Nestelberg Home Shoe and Unterfahrenbach 383.23 ha Villages (population 2011) are: Home Shoe ( 963), Kittenberg (42) Muggenau (135) Nestelberg (300) Pernitsch (89) and Unterfahrenbach (430).

History

In 1144 the place is mentioned as " in Marchia apud He ( i) mpsach ". The parish church of St. Sigismund is already called 1170. From 1381 to 1453, a noble family is shown on the site. The local church as an autonomous body created in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to Reichsgau Styria, 1945-1955, she was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.
