Heino Kruus

Heino Kruus (Russian Хейно Рихардович Круус; born 30 September 1926 in Tallinn, Estonia; † 24 June 2012) was a Soviet basketball player of Estonian origin.

Sports Performance

From 1949 to 1954 Heino Kruus played in the national basketball team of the USSR, with whom he won the silver medal in Helsinki at the Summer Olympics in 1952. 1951 and 1953 won Kruus with the Soviet basketball team the gold medal at the European Championships. Kruus was with his basketball team Estonian champion of 1946, 1947, 1949 ( as a player ) and 1954 and 1955 ( as a coach ) and 1958 Estonian champion in handball ( as a coach ). From 1945 to 1956 he also went to the team of the Estonian SSR.

From 1954 to 1963, Heino Kruus coach at club Kalev Tallinn and formed simultaneously on. He completed his 1960 Sport Studies at the State University of Tartu. From 1963 to 1988 Kruus was a lecturer.
