Heinrich Dernburg

Heinrich Dernburg ( March 3, 1829 in Mainz, † November 23, 1907 in Charlottenburg) was a German jurist, Kronsyndikus, politicians and a major representative of the Pandektenwissenschaft.

Life

Dernburg studied in Giessen and Berlin and his habilitation in 1851 with his work The ratio of the hereditatis petitions to the inheritance singular union lawsuits as a lecturer in Heidelberg, where he co-founded the Critical Journal of the whole law. He became in 1847 a member of the Old Giessen fraternity Franconia. In 1854 he became an associate and shortly afterwards full professor of law in Zurich. In 1862 he received an appointment at the Martin -Luther- University Halle- Wittenberg. In 1866, he came as their representatives in the Prussian mansion in which he was active as a liberal politician, and in 1873 was appointed a life member. In April 1873 he was sent to August Friedrich Adolf Rudorffs job as Pandektist in the Friedrich Wilhelm University (now Humboldt University of Berlin) transferred to Berlin, where he Roman Law, and Prussian civil law taught. 1884 to 1885 he was Rector of the Friedrich- Wilhelms-Universität.

Heinrich Dernburg was buried at the Luis Cemetery in Berlin -Westend.

Family

Dernburg's brother Friedrich Dernburg was a National Liberal politician and publicist, whose son Bernhard Dernburg banker and politician.

Honor

Heinrich Dernburg in honor of the Dernburg place was (now renamed again ) named and the Dernburgstraße in Charlottenburg -Wilmersdorf.
