Heinrich LXII, Prince Reuss Younger Line

Heinrich LXII. Reuss Younger Line ( born May 31, 1785 Schleiz, † June 19, 1854 in Gera ) was from 17 April 1818 to October 1, 1848 Prince of Reuss- Schleiz thereafter until June 19, 1854 Prince Reuss younger line ( as the union all sovereign lines of Reuss younger line: Reuss- Schleiz, Reuss- Gera, Reuss- Lobenstein and Reuss- Ebersdorf ).

Life

He studied in Erlangen and Würzburg. In his time as Prince Reuss to Schleiz he had with Prince Reuss to Lobenstein and Ebersdorf Community Government through the territory of the former Counts of Reuss- Gera.

After the abdication of Prince Heinrich LXXII. Reuss to Lobenstein and Ebersdorf on October 1, 1848, he united after 200 years of division now all principalities of the younger branch of the House of Reuss in his hand with the title Prince Reuss younger line. Under his rule the country in 1849 was a contemporary constitution. 1851 met the first constitutional parliament and in 1852 a revised state constitution, together with a new electoral law was adopted by indirect elections.

He was the eldest son of Henry XLII. (1752-1818) and his wife Caroline of Hohenlohe- Kirchberg (1761-1849) and brother of his successor Heinrich LXVII.

Heinrich LXII. remained unmarried.
