Heinrich Reinhardt (composer)

Heinrich Reinhardt ( born April 13, 1865 in Pressburg ( Bratislava), † January 31, 1922 in Vienna) was a successful Austrian operetta composer of the early 20th century.

He studied at the Conservatory of the Society of Friends of Music in Vienna. Among his teachers was Anton Bruckner. As an accomplished pianist and organist, he turned to the composition. He composed songs and salon music, which was soon followed by two operas. With the premiere of the operetta " The Sweet girl " on October 25, 1901 at Vienna's Carl Theater, he headed the transition from the "golden" to " silver era" of operetta.

Heinrich Reinhardt worked as a music writer and critic. From 1914 to 1922 he was President of the Austrian Composers' Association.
