Heinrich Wilhelm Ferdinand Wackenroder

Heinrich Wilhelm Ferdinand Wackenroder ( born March 8, 1798 in Burgdorf, † September 4, 1854 in Jena ) was a German chemist and pharmacist.

He was at the University of Jena and employees of Johann Wolfgang Dobereiner since 1828 professor. They were both regular conversation and ask partner Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, who was responsible for the Chemistry Institute founded by him and in this role - also awarded research contracts - in consultation with the Duke Karl August.

Wackenroder isolated in 1826 from Corydalis cava ( Hohler Corydalis ) the Corydalin and 1831 from the carrot carotene. In 1845 he discovered the Wackenrodersche liquid pentathionic. Wackenroder was elected in 1843 a member of the Leopoldina.
