Heinrich XI, Prince Reuss of Greiz

Heinrich XI. Reuss (* March 18, 1722 in Obergreiz, † June 28, 1800 in Greiz ) from the House of Reuss in 1723 was from the reigning Count, from 1778 Prince of the Principality of Reuss elder line, a direct imperial territory in the Holy Roman Empire.

Life

Heinrich XI. was a son of Count Henry II of Reuss to Obergreiz (1696-1722) and his wife Countess Sophie Charlotte von Bothmer ( 1697-1748 ). He followed his brother Henry IX. 1723 Count Reuss to Obergreiz.

After the death of Count Henry III. Reuss to Untergreiz 1768 fell at his also Untergreiz. This enabled Heinrich XI. the possession of the Reuss elder line reunite in his hand. He designed the residence in order to systematically Greiz, built in 1769 to the summer palace and founded the Imperial Library.

On May 12, 1778, he was raised as a prince of Reuss to Greiz in the imperial princes. His close ties to the Austrian imperial family also comes to the awarding of the St. Stephen's religious expression.

Heinrich XI. married his first marriage on April 4, 1743 Koestritz Konradine ( 1719-1770 ), daughter of Count Heinrich XXIV Reuss of Schleiz to Koestritz, with whom he had the following children:
