Heinrich XXIV, Count Reuss of Ebersdorf

Heinrich XXIV Reuss ( younger line ) ( born January 22, 1724 in Ebersdorf, † May 13, 1779 ibid ) was Count of Reuss to Ebersdorf.

Life

Heinrich XXIV was the eldest son of Count Heinrich XXIX. Reuss to Ebersdorf and his wife Countess Sophie Theodora of Castell- Remlingen. He succeeded his father as Count of Ebersdorf the year in 1747.

Were his parents still ardent supporters of the Moravian Church, Heinrich XXIV had less and less interest in pietism. In Ebersdorf, once the center of this faith in Thuringia, only remained independent of the national church institution community, whose independence was confirmed by Heinrich in a decree dated June 1, 1761. This decree also allowed the establishment of handicraft and trade regardless of guilds.

About his daughter Auguste Henry is the great-grandfather of Queen Victoria.
