Heinz Friedrich Hartig

Heinz Friedrich Hartig ( born September 10, 1907 in Kassel, † September 16, 1969 in Berlin) was a German composer and music educator.

From 1948 he taught at the Berlin Academy of Music, the subjects ear training and music theory. In 1955, he became a professor. In addition, he directed until his death the sound engineer department of the university. In this capacity, he made ​​the acquaintance with Boris Blacher, with whom he worked closely.

Hartig was particularly interested in the space music, he devoted himself intensively together with Blacher since the late 1950s.

His compositional work consists mainly of concertos, sonatas, songs, oratorios and choral works. Furthermore, he enjoyed as a music teacher an excellent reputation. Among his pupils were among others Carlo Domeniconi and Roland Pfrengle.
