Heinz-Josef Koitka

Heinz- Josef " Jupp " Koitka ( born February 12, 1952 in Wattenscheid ) is a former German football goalkeeper.

Career

He began his career in 1971 with SG Wattenscheid 09 From 1976 to 1979 he played for Eintracht Frankfurt before he played in the 1979/ 1980 in the 2nd Bundesliga Nord for Rot-Weiß Lüdenscheid. From 1980 to 1982 he played for Hamburger SV. For the 1982/83 season he moved to Alemannia Aachen. There he played for two years and then returned to the SG Wattenscheid 09. From 1987 to 1990 he played again for Hamburger SV. Overall, he played as a goalkeeper from 1975 to 1990 142 Bundesliga games, most of them for Eintracht Frankfurt (91).

His biggest success was winning the German Cup in 1982 with the Hamburger SV, after he had become in the preseason runner-up. In 1982 he reached the UEFA Cup final as a substitute goalkeeper behind Uli Stein.

In 1990 Koitka finished his career at HSV. Then he went back to his roots to Wattenscheid, where he was employed by the SG Wattenscheid 09 as a coach and goalkeeper coach. His son, Kai played from 2003 to 2006 also at SG Wattenscheid 09 and returned in 2012 after several other stations also back to its roots.

Heinz -Josef Koitka was in charge from 2000 to 2007 an employee at the DFB and there among other things for the goalkeeper training the U-21 national team, he also worked as an observer.
