Heinz Kindermann

Heinz Kindermann ( born June 20, 1942 in Welhota on the Elbe, Sudetenland ) is a German politician ( SPD), who belonged to the European Parliament from 1994 to 2009.

Biography

Education and work

After the school visit Kindermann began in 1956 an apprenticeship as a skilled worker for Agronomy and Crop Science. Then he attended from 1959 the Workers ' and Peasants' Faculty at the University of Rostock, where he was a high school in 1961. He then completed a degree in veterinary medicine at the Humboldt University of Berlin, which he finished in 1967. 1968 was also his PhD Dr. med.

Kindermann worked from 1967 to 1990 as a veterinary practitioner in a group practice in Strasburg. He also graduated from 1988 to 1990 a postgraduate training as a veterinary specialist for small animals at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig. After that, he was from 1990 to 1994 worked as a veterinary officer in Strasburg. He became head of the veterinary and food control duties at the district office in Strasburg in 1992.

Heinz Kindermann is married and has two children.

Policy

Kindermann was 1991-1993 Chairman of the SPD district association Strasburg from 1992 to 1995 Chairman of the SPD sub-district of Uecker- Randow.

From 1990 to 1994 Kindermann was a member of the town council of Strasburg, where he was also chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.

From 1994 to 2009 he was a member of the European Parliament. There Kindermann was the coordinator of the PES Group on Fisheries and spokesman of the SPD for Agriculture and Fisheries. In the European elections in 2009, he opted not to run again.
