Heinz Schröder

Heinz Schröder ( born April 24, 1928 in Berlin, † 22 April, 2009 Ruedersdorf in Berlin) was a German puppeteer whose characters gaining considerable popularity especially in children.

Schröder was trained as a technical draftsman. After 1945, he was only at the Berlin municipal authorities, and later worked in the district office of the FDJ. From 1953 he played in the then newly formed puppet theater pioneer of the Berlin Republic " Ernst Thalmann " at the Wuhlheide. Since 1957 he has worked as a puppeteer in the children's television program of the GDR.

Among the games played and spoken by Schröder figures in the fairy forest and Wonderland series of the East German children's television were:

  • Mr. Fox, together with Heinz Fülfe as a woman Elster ( see Mr. Fox and Mrs. Elster)
  • Mrs. Hedgehog, together with Friedgard Short as Borstel
  • The Bear Brummel ( who appeared in a duo with the presenter Annemarie Brodhagen )
  • The Bummi Bear (1975 replaced by the voice of Harald Preuss bear Mishka )
  • The wise uncle Uhu
  • Pittiplatsch, together with Friedgard Short as Schnatterinchen (see Pittiplatsch and Schnatterinchen )
  • The mole Buddelflink, together with Renate Mladenov as mouse Gertrud

He also appeared in early episodes himself as a forester green skirt. He also took over the leadership of the cat Casimir dolls in the doll series The playhouse, but not lent his voice. On October 3, 1969 Heinz Schröder received as a member of the collective " Abendgruß of children's television " (with Gerhard Behrendt, Wolfgang Richter, Friedgard Short, Harald Serowski and Heinz Fülfe ) the National Prize of the GDR III. Class for art and literature.

The Fairytale Forest figures emerged since the late 1950s, first in the broadcast since 1955 Sunday afternoon show champion bottleneck tells tales on ( with Eckart Friedrichson a master bottleneck ), which was later renamed to visit in Wonderland. Also in the evening greeting from Sandman figures since the 1970s were seen regularly. Authors of the stories were usually Ingeborg and Günther Feustel. Since the settlement of the East German television in 1991, no further episodes were produced. Schroeder toured since 1993 with the Pittiplatsch ensemble through the eastern part of Germany.

Heinz Schröder was married and lived most recently in Schoneiche. He died on 22 April 2009, two days before his 81st birthday. A day earlier, on April 21, a tumor in the spine was found with him.
