Helele

Helele is a chart hit the South African singer Velile Mchunu together with the Safri Duo, which was successful in 2010 during the football World Cup.

History

Beginning of the 1970s saw the Frenchman Daniel Vangarde (actually Daniel Bangalter ) and the Belgian Jean Kluger a common concept album titled Le monde fabuleux of Yamasuki out. The album contained Japanese -sounding music with Japanese- sounding pseudo texts. As Yamasuki 's ( a portmanteau composed of Yamaha and Suzuki) they released in 1971 in Europe, the piece AIEAO A.

Four years later, the song by the Belgian band Black Blood, whose producer Jean Kluger was provided with a text in a Swahili dialect and as a single under the title AIE ( Mwana ) was published. The song became an international Discohit and reached in Germany in 1975 in 24th place in the charts.

Early 80s took the girl band Bananarama song for a demo single, and had their first hit with it. In the U.S., they were placed with Aie a mwana 1981 at number 66 of the dance charts.

In the 80s also took Ottawan ( in English as AIE Is My Song, 1982) and La Compagnie Créole ( " AIE A Moun'la ", 1987), both produced by Vangarde and Kluger, the song on. Then it was quiet around the song, apart from a re-recording of Black Blood in 1999, which still attracted attention.

Helele

Prior to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa reminded the South African Velile Mchunu, which had become known as a musical actress in The Lion King in Germany, along with her team of producers Elephant Music and its record company Universal Music again to this song. For the rhythmic background they could win the two percussionists of Safri Duo. The two Danes were known in 2000 with Played- A-Live ( The Bongo Song), which had been listed among others at the opening of the Olympic Games this year. Velile wrote a new text in their native language isiZulu and so was Helele. Both RTL and the Swiss Television used the song as background music of their World Cup coverage. In Switzerland Helele reached during the World Cup # 1 on the charts in Germany, it came in at number two. Helele Award of Switzerland with gold, in Germany with platinum.
