Helen Delich Bentley

Helen Delich Bentley ( born November 28, 1923 in Ruth, Nevada ) is a former U.S. politician. Between 1985 and 1995, she represented the state of Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Helen Bentley studied at the University of Nevada, and the Georgetown University in Washington DC and to 1944 at the University of Missouri. She then worked as a journalist and television producer. Between 1969 and 1975 she was chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission. At that time she also worked as an international business consultant. At the same time they hit as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. In the years 1980 and 1982, she ran unsuccessfully for each yet the U.S. House of Representatives.
