Helen Elizabeth Hunt ( born June 15, 1963 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actress. In 1998 she does not get any better for the role in the Oscar Award for Best Actress. With Then She Found Me 2007 she gave her debut as a film director.
Her parents, the renowned director Gordon Hunt and his wife, Jane, moved to New York in 1966, but only six years later returned to Los Angeles. Got her first role Helen Hunt in the TV movie Pioneer Woman on the side of William Shatner. In the following years she starred in several television productions.
The first successes
The first major movie role was in 1985 in the teen comedy Girls Just Want to Have Fun on the side of Sarah Jessica Parker. This was followed by roles in Peggy Sue Got Married and 1987 Project X with Matthew Broderick. The late 1980s and early 1990s, Hunt was again for several television productions for the camera. For her performance in the film Water Dance (1992 ) by three paraplegics, she received rave reviews. In 2005 she participated in the TV production with Empire Falls, where she was standing next to Ed Harris, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robin Wright Penn in front of the camera. It was followed by other roles in various theater productions.
Helen Hunt was married from 1999 to 2000 with actor Hank Azaria. Since 2000 she is with producer Matthew Carnahan ( b. 1961 ) allied with whom she a daughter (* 2004).
