Helen Jenkins

Helen Rebecca Jenkins ( born March 8, 1984 in Elgin as Helen Rebecca Tucker ) is a Scottish- Welsh professional triathlete and reigning World Triathlon Champion (2008, 2011).

Sporting career

In the UK, Helen Jenkins has been one of the top class in 2003 when she won the Junior Championship. In 2006, she also won the British Elite Championship after she had previously been British elite runner-up in the year.

2006 was Helen Jenkins because of Achilles tendon injury, in 2007 she was disabled after a reboot by the foot injury, but the Triathlon World Championships won 2008 Olympic distance ( 1500m swim, 40 km bike and 10 km run ) in Vancouver and was 21 at the Olympic Games in Beijing.

Helen Jenkins also participates in prestigious non ITU competitions - she won in 2009 and again in 2010 about the London Triathlon.

At the Grand Final of the Dextro Energy World Championship Series 2009 Gold Coast Helen Tucker won the bronze medal in September, thus reaching in the annual Appreciation fifth. In the Dextro Energy World Championship Series 2010 Helen Jenkins could reach the fourth.

In 2011 she was able to repeat the success in 2008 and won for the second time Triathlon World Champion title at the Olympic distance. At the Olympic Games in 2012, she was fifth in London.

Private

Helen Jenkins lives in Bridgend, Wales. On 30 October 2008 she married her long-time friend, training partner and coach, Marc Jenkins from Bridgend, in Disneyland (Orlando ).

ITU competitions

In the nine years from 2002 to 2010 Helen Jenkins took part in 42 ITU competitions and achieved 28 top ten finishes, including 14 medals. The season opened in 2011, Jenkins with a gold medal in the Pan American Cup and two silver medals in the World Championship Series Madrid and Kitzbühel.
