Helena Almeida

Helena Maria de Castro Neves de Almeida ( born 1934 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese photographer and conceptual artist.

Career

Almeida was born as the daughter of the sculptor Leopoldo de Almeida ( 1898-1975 ). Her youth was marked by the political conditions of the Estado Novo. She studied at the Art Academy in Lisbon. In 2005, she represented Portugal at the Venice Biennale.
