Helena Norberg-Hodge

Helena Norberg- Hodge ( born February 1946 in Sweden ) is the founder and director of the International Society for Ecology and Culture ( ISEC ), a non-profit organization that deals with the protection of biological and cultural diversity on Earth. The ISEC leads on four continents programs, aimed at strengthening the ecological diversity and community, especially in the area of ​​regional food and agriculture.

Life and work

Norberg- Hodge is co-founder of the International Forum on Globalization, an alliance of 60 leading activists, students, economists, researchers and writers, which aims to stimulate new ways of thinking and to carry out joint activities and public education projects that provide an answer to the increasing globalization should.

She works with the Global Ecovillage Network and also is before the Ladakh Project, which became famous for his pioneering work on sustainable development on the Tibetan plateau. For Norberg- Hodge 1986 was awarded the Right Livelihood Award.

It is one of the leading analysts of the impact of globalization on the cultures of the world.
